We keep it simple and predictable so that you can stay in total control of your production budget. Simply put, we bill on a “per song basis” with no hourly rates or hidden fees.

Services and Rates

Mastering

DIGITAL MASTERING: $60 PER TRACK
If you have more than one version of the same song, the first version’s mastering fee will be $60, but each additional version will be only $30 (radio edit, instrumental, acapella, performance track, etc). This reduced rate only applies if ALL versions are mastered at the same time.

This price includes: studio time, editing time, and DDP master (if applicable). “Per track” or “per song” in this instance refers to songs of standard length for commercially popular compositions. For very long tracks, such as symphonic selections, please contact us for an exact estimate.

We offer package deals for full albums/mixtapes. Contact us for details.

Restoration

In this era of digital technology may seem strange to take care of vinyl records, cassettes and tapes, but it is well known to audio experts that the sound quality contained in these media is very high (in many cases greater than the CD itself, not to mention comparing with mp3) and sometimes we are in the presence of masterpieces to be preserved.

At L. Nix Mastering, we offer restoration of the content: to broaden up considerably the clarity and the sonic performance of a sound track, removing noise artifacts (pops, clicks, crackle, hiss and hum) and improving the response across all frequencies through the use of filters and equalizers.

Radio Editing Services

Whether your song was mastered by us or another professional, we provide radio editing services. The cost of our services is determined by the number of explicit language that needs to be removed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for further details.

Vinyl Mastering

VINYL MASTERING: $60 PER TRACK (if mastering for vinyl only)

$30 PER TRACK (if mastering for vinyl AND digital at the same time)

Mastering for vinyl presents a unique set of challenges compared to mastering for digital platforms. Vinyl imposes technical limitations on the extent to which a mastering engineer can manipulate the audio. Unlike digital masters, which can have a 16-bit word length and be pushed to be as loud and limited as desired, vinyl masters must conform to the physical constraints imposed by the cutting head of the lathe. This often leads to heavily clipped masters, a common practice in digital formats but unsuitable for physical records.

  1. Nix Mastering has been a leader in vinyl mastering since the early 1970s. Our expertise in this specialized field allows us to provide cutting-edge solutions for achieving the highest quality audio on your vinyl records. We offer meticulously prepared tracks for lathe cutting, ensuring the highest resolution possible. Our mastered files can be delivered directly to the cutting engineer, ready for immediate use.

In the rare event that adjustments are needed, our team is committed to making any necessary changes at no extra cost to you. Trust L. Nix Mastering to deliver unparalleled expertise and service for all your vinyl mastering needs.
